I am looking for any type of line or fitting adapter that will allow me to use my Olympus IV8C6-20 videoscope fiberoptic cable with a IV-5A camera control unit. I know my unit was meant to function with the newer IV-6A camera control unit, but I can't seem to locate one. The video female fitting on the camera control unit is different between the series IV-5A and IV-6A. Thanks!

My name isXXXXX will be your Primary Care Technician and I can assist you with your question.To my knowledge, the IV8C6-20, isn't compatible with the IV-5A CCU, and so there was never any sort of adapter made. However, It's been over a decade since I've been asked about one! So I am going to double-check to see what, if anything, I can find out. One of the challenges here is that when the IV-5A was in production, electronic documents weren't ubiquitous like they are today, so getting specific information about them can prove to be difficult. I appreciate you working on this question. I do own a IV-5A CCU but can't seem to find a reasonably priced IV-6 or IV-6A CCU. I'd even like to know where I could purchase the 6 series CCU's if you have a suggestion?
LOL... I was actually looking for that for you as well.As you know by now, these are pretty difficult to find... not a typical product in many households. But I like a challenge. I think there is a higher probability of finding IV-6 or 6A. Those I have seen for sale. You mentioned "...at a reasonable price". Have you actually seen one available for sale. I have so far found a few, but they are "sold". I'm going to keep looking though. I did find a site that showed some promise, but I sort of closed the browser and have to find it again.
