I just charged my battery and my camera won't turn on. I had just had it on to look at previous pictures and I changed the card, and now it doesn't turn on. What has happened?
Do you have another battery you can test it with?
Yes. I have an extra battery. I charged that and the same thing happened. It doesn't come on with either battery.
Ok please look closely at the contacts for the battery in the camera are the electrical contacts dirty at all?
They don't look dirty to me. The contacts on the battery look OK too. What next?

Ok this problem may be caused by a failing charger the only way to test that is with another charger. Some camera shops in electronics stores (smaller ones normally) will test this for you for free in hopes of selling you the new adapter.
I have a friend who has the same camera so I may contact her to see if I could borrow her charger. It worked probably 5 minutes before I tried to reinsert the card. I'm hoping but wondering if I may have jammed the card/reader and it won't turn on now. You're the expert. How difficult is it to mess up the reader?
You would have had to slam the card in there with a hammer for example for it to effect the battery contacts. You can look closely at them with a flashlight if there damaged usually you will see bent pins.
