I understand that the Gallery will be moved to Shutterfly but I have thousands of photos from a decade past on Kodak Easyshare ... will that still be 'safe' or must I move them off to someother file on my harddrive ... if so, do you have a suggestion? Many thanks ...
Hi there. My name is XXXXX XXXXX it would be my pleasure to help with your issue.Your data stored in your easy share software is safe on the hard drive of your computer and will not be affected. You can verify this by going to my documents/my pictures/kodak pictures This is the default storage folder for the easy share software and the software only uses this folder as a default storage folder for your images and has a link to this folder. If you want a back up of your images, copy the contents of this kodak pictures folder to another location such as an external hard drive.Hope this helps. As I understand, near term, I can continue to fetch/forward/print any/all photos as now ... will the software be supported or will it just stay as is currently which likely will cause problems in the future.
As of now there is no plan to stop supporting the easy share software. It will eventually have to be switched over but that will most likely be years down the way. Even when the switch takes place you will only have to point the new software to the folder where all your current images are stored to have them show up in the new library. You should be able to run both programs simultaneously on your computer and point both programs to the same library folder when the switch does happen. This will give you plenty of time to get used to the new software if you want to switch over. If you don't like the new software you will be able to continue using the software that you currently have.
