I have an Underwater Camera, Minolta VE(tis GX-4, and wish to use it on my upcoming cruise, but the lens is fogged. Otherwise, I feel the camera should work OK for my use. Is there something I can do to clear the lens? Thanks for your assistance. Jeanette XXXXXX XXX-XXX-XXXX, or email:XXX@XXXXXX.XXX

Without having a shop take it apart there is one thing you can try to get the moisture out. Take the camera and put it into a pot of uncooked rice. Close the cover of the pot and just let the camera sit there for about 2 days (if you have that much time). After 2 days remove the camera and see if the moisture has been removed. I know this sounds strange but rice has a tremendous ability to absorb moisture so it usually does work. Good luck
I don't think the problem is moisture; the lens looks a little discolored
That is not good. If the lens looks discolored then it would be the polorizing film that they put on the lens when they make it. This coating is to prevent glare. If it has become discolored it is defective and there is nothing to do other than replacing the lens and that would be a rather expensive repair for this type camera.
My husband said that he does not think it has to do with moisture; the lens is slightly discolored.
