Customer Question

I have a Nikon CoolPix 880. I recently bought a SanDisk Ultra CompactFlash Card (4GB). When I put it into the camera it stated that the card was not formatted. I went to you help area and got the instructions for formating the card and proceeded to follow them to format it through my pc. Completed the formating and still got the same "Card is Not Formatted" It has a box next to the CARD word with an arrow inside. When I try to go up like the arrow is pointing, I get nothing.
Please help.

Hi,

The Coolpix 880 model, made in 2002 is not compatible with newer large capacity cards. There are two reasons for this: One is that the camera's operating system cannot detect and count high enough to track the number of available shots. The second and most important factor is the file structure changes as the capacity of the cards grew. To be safe, it is possible to use cards up to 1gb, but operation is only certain with cards up to 160 mb. Please see the Nikon page at the link below
