I had a panasonic disc camcorder that was bought in 2004 but was recently stolen. I have around 30 discs that were not formated. Is there anyway that I can format the discs. I have many memories on these discs...sons 1st b-day, holidays, and honeymoon. Your help in this matter would greatly be appreciated.
Hi,You pretty much have three options. The first, is to find a replacement camcorder (the same as your original model) to use to format the discs. Be sure that an AC adapter is included. The second is to use the DVD file manipulation program ISO Buster to break the video information apart and burn it to a standard DVD.http://www.isobuster.com/http://www.videohelp.com/tools/ISOBusterThe third and probably the one with the best success rate is a data recovery service like the one below. This option is more expensive, but the resources and experience do effect the outcome.http://www.xdatarecovery.com/mini-dvd-rw-panasonic-videos-disks-repairs-recovery.aspPlease keep in mind that my diagnosis & solutions provided are directly dependent on the accuracy of your description of the problem. As with any "do it yourself" fixes, success is a "team effort", since I can't see or touch the camera, and relies on the customer's manual dexterity and ability to follow the instructions well. If, and only if my answer to your question is helpful and you are Satisfied with it, please click the green Accept button and leave Positive Feedback. If I go to one of the sites you listed what exactly do I do? Do I insert the mini dvd into my laptop? Do I download a program from the site?
At the first link, you can download and install the ISO Buster program. I suggest that when you go to the link and the page opens, go to the online help selection and read the installation information. You do have the option of using this utility for free or paying a donation. The second link is more information about the ISO buster program. The third link is a professional service that will finalize your discs for you for a fee.If, and only if my answer to your question is helpful and you are Satisfied with it, please click the green Accept button and leave Positive Feedback. Thank you very much. I have one final question, The professional service that you speak of, do I send them my discs or is it another program that I download
You would send the DVDs. I would say, pick a few of your least important ones to send, see their results, then send the rest. If, and only if my answer to your question is helpful and you are Satisfied with it, please click the green Accept button and leave Positive Feedback. Thank you
