my panasonic NV-DS65 will not play back a tape for meit also doesnt fastforward or rewindit does appear to work in camera mode and i have not tried the record function

Remove the bottom plate off the camera it should be attached with some screws.Take off the bottom plate and with a flashlight look closely at the ribbon cables.Make sure they are all connected tightly if one of them comes loose it can cause this problem.
