I have a Lumix LX5 that suddenly stopped zooming properly.

Resolved Question:

I have a Lumix LX5 that suddenly stopped zooming properly. The zoom
Lever became extremely stiff to operate and lens will zoom from wide angle to telephoto by itself without any of my controlling it. Also
Mode selector dial becamvt stiff and detentents became impossible to feel. Camera gad been working perfectly for past 18 mos. with no problems both of these problems appeared simultaneously and camera has not been dropped or wet or abused in
any way. What would it cost to repair it?

Hi Ira,I will suggest that both sticking zoom lever and mode dial can be corrected simply by you.Using a window type cleaner(windex),gently spray onto top zoom lever and mode dial.Work dial and zoom lever until free, this should resolve your problem. You may need to clean a couple of times, but this should correct. If problem does persist, service to replace top case and mode dial will most likely be needed and should be cost effective. However,I do think cleaning will correct.

If you have any other questions please ask....Best to you,Joe
