Readyrmca :

Hi there. It would be my pleasure to help with your issue.

Readyrmca :

This is most likely due to file names of pictures being duplicated. Here's how to get past it

Customer :

the pictures are not being duplicated. I have new pictures on the camera that have never been downloaded

Readyrmca :

Not the pictures, just the file names

Customer :

ok

Readyrmca :

Connect the camera like you normally would, but instead of opening IB, go to start>my computer>there should be a removable disk there with a letter like E: or F:

Customer :

ok

Readyrmca :

Click on this removable disk and there should be a folder inside called DCIM. Inside the DCIM folder there will be more folders. Inside of these folders should be your images.

Readyrmca :

Let me know if you can see them

Customer :

i do not see a removable disk

Readyrmca :

And you have the camera connected and turned on

Customer :

i found it

Readyrmca :

great.

Readyrmca :

Let me know when you see the pictures. they should be in a folder named something like 100olymp

Customer :

they are all there

Customer :

how do I get them to be saved someplace more accessable?

Readyrmca :

Once you get to your pictures, then select all the ones that IB won't import, and then right click and copy. You can hold down the cntrl key on the keyboard to select multiple pictures

Readyrmca :

We're going to put them in the IB software

Readyrmca :

manually

Customer :

ok cool thanks

Readyrmca :

lets just do one for a test. Select and image then right click and copy it

Readyrmca :

Then go to start>my documents>my pictures>there should be an IB folder here>right click the IB folder and then click paste

Customer :

nothing under pictures and th IB program will not open. I click it and it opens for a nano second and immediately closes

Readyrmca :

Ok. Your going to have to give me a few minutes on that one to do some testing. As soon as I have a solution I'll post right back here for you, ok

Readyrmca :

Take the time to copy the photos in question to a location on the computer where you can find them.

Readyrmca :

While I find you a solution

Customer :

ok thanks. and a while back, I discovered all the files that had contained pictures, where empty. the folders are all still here but they are all empty. Years of pictures

Customer :

gone

Readyrmca :

That's generally not possible unless you delete them. Try this for me. Go to start>search/find>type in .jpg then enter

Readyrmca :

This should bring up all the picture files on your computer. Look in the list and see if any of the missing pictures show up there in the list. If you have any trouble with doing the search let me know

Readyrmca :

Also, what operating system is your computer running?
