nikon coolpix e5000 lcd monitor shows white screen nothing else and will turn on and off. All other functions not reliant on lcd work fine.  Thanks.

From what you have indicated the LCD or the connection to it has failed. Due to scarcity of parts the cost of repair or replacement varies widely. The two services below can repair your camera. They both have online estimates that you can access on their pages.Please go to the links below.

Note: Considering the age and present value of this camera, paying the cost of having it repaired, approximately $110 - $200 is probably not very cost effective. The standard "rule of thumb" is if the repair cost is greater than 50% of the value of the camera, it is not worth it. A good used Coolpix e5000 can be purchased for about $55 -$90 and a mint condition one (in box) for around $150.
