I was deleting individual pictures from my Coolpix L2 or L3. I evidently pressed the wrong button, got an icon that looked to me like it would indicate "duplicate," then an hourglass icon, and suddenly a bunch of pictures were gone. Can I get them back?

Hi!Welcome to Just Answer My name is XXXXX XXXXX X will be assisting you today to resolve or identify Your Problem.
If the images you want to recover are on a Flash memory card or in your camera can still be recovered using the same type of recovery software. Photo recovery software accesses a memory card just as if it was a hard drive. If you are using Windows and your digital camera appears in Windows Explorer by the name of the camera rather than as a drive letter, you may need to take the memory card out of the camera and put it in a USB memory card reader before you can start the recovery.

I think I downloaded the software but I think my card reader won't accept the memory card. I don't have the direct cord; it's at work.Do you have any idea where the software landed on my computer?I will pay the charge since my lack of equipment is not your fault. Thank you for helping.
What OS do you you use XP or VISTA ?
I'm pretty sure it's XP.
Then please open your MY Documents and go to Downloads Folder there is the software landed on your computer.
