My Canon Elura 100 DV camera wont load the dv tape. it keeps

Customer Question

My Canon Elura 100 DV camera won't load the dv tape. it keeps giving me an error to remove the cassette. I remove the tape and put another one in. Same result. Powered off/on...same result. I tried different tapes from Fuji, Sony and Panasonic...no luck what should i do?

This certainly sounds like a tape mechanism issue...Does the camera try to thread up the tape at all? Can you hear motor noise after you have put the tape in? If not then the tape cassette switch may be out of alignment or faulty which may be an easy repair and either a repairman or yourself will be able to realign quickly and easily... If there is motor noise then the problems is likely in the take up mechanism and this is likely an uneconomical repair, get quotes for repair and compare against the price of a new flash memory recorder...
