I am sorry to hear you are worried about Pepper's weight, but glad you are trying to do something about it. Being overweight can take as much as two years off a dog's life.

There are some good diet foods on the market; I like the "Satiety" diet by Royal Canin. You need a prescription from your veterinarian for it, but if you order it on a site such as Chewy.com, they will contact your vet for you.

Sometimes I just recommend cutting out treats, and cutting her regular food by 1/3 to 1/2. Use carrot sticks as treats.
