My little Scottie (18 lbs) 91/2 years old can hardly walk, she falls, can't step up or down, is very shaky when does walk. Yesterday morning I dropped a capsule on the floor. We were never able to find it. I'm afraid my dog did.
The capsule was - TAMSULOSIN - A generic for FLOMAX. The MEDICINE is an ALPHA-BLOCKER.
Welcome! My name isXXXXX am a 2003 graduate from UC Davis, and currently a Medical Director of a veterinary hospital.

I am sorry to hear about this concern for Zoe.

Yes, I agree with you that I would have expected improvement already at this time. I am suspicious that her symptoms are not consistent with this drug.

I definitely feel that it is time to get into a vet for examination. Her symptoms could support either a systemic problem, or a primary musculoskeletal issue including a spinal problem like a disc herniation.

I can't say 100%, but either way, even if drug-induced, the severity of her complication would suggest she needs some additional supportive care.

I hope that information has been helpful.

Thank you Dr. Andy - on my way to a local Vet.

Thanks again,

Your welcome Roy.
Sorry to hear about the complication.
Once the vet can get through the examination, you may know a bit more, or at least, what testing steps they recommend.

Good Luck
