My chinchillas managed to get into a drawer in their room last night and pull out a latex glove that i use to disinfect their cages with and i found it on the floor with some bits chewed. I have searched everywhere trying to find the chewed bits but cant find any so assuming one or both have ate some.. I gave them extra oats and raisins to help with digestion, what else should i do?

Optional Information:
Type of Animal: chinchillas

Name of Animal: Gizmo and Blossom
What have you tried so far?: Gave them extra raisins and oats with feed and completely cleaned the cages to monitor there stools etc. closely.

Hello, I'm Dr. Bob.
I understand your concern for Gizmo and Blossom, but fortunately, small pieces of latex will most likely pass through their digestive tracts without a problem. Latex is the dried sap of the rubber plant and although it can be somewhat irritating to the digestive tract, it is relatively harmless. They may get a bit of diarrhea, but that's probably all you'll see, if that, unless they swallowed a very large piece of the glove, which could cause a blockage. A stoppage of droppings would be a sign of that happening. Be sure that they're having normal droppings for the next two or three days. If a problem passing their droppings isn't seen, they should both be just fine.
If you should have any further questions, please let me know.
Kindest regards,
Dr. Bob
