Welcome to JustAnswer! I am a licensed veterinarian and specialist and will do my best to assist you today! What you are likely referring to is Lysine. This is a common addition to the therapy for cats with upper respiratory infections. The lysine stops the virus from replicating and therefore allows the immune system to better fight the infection Viralys or Enisyl-FThere are also homeopathic remedies for immune system support (LINK HERE) Other considerations would be humidification. You can either use a children's / baby's humidifier for 10-15 minutes twice daily, or using the steam from a hot shower you can attempt to humidify the air that your cat breathes. This is meant to be a running dialogue, and for this reason it is very IMPORTANT that you reply using the REPLY TO EXPERT button if more information is needed at any time BEFORE rating.Positive RATING (EXCITED FACE or 5 STARS) and bonus if happy is appreciated as this is the only way I know you have received the information and I receive credit for my time. Please remember to ONLY rate my answer when you are 100% satisfied.
