Hi Mindy - Welcome to JustAnswer! I am a licensed veterinarian and specialist and will do my best to assist you today!1) Does she have a fever?2) Have any other medications aside from steroids been used?-
NO FEVER AND ON ETODOLAC I HAD TO TAKE HER OFF STEROIDS SHE WAS LEAKING MD DISCONTINUED
Based on your history, many would consider a trial of an antibiotic. If there is no fracture. And if not responsive to steroids, an infection may be present within the tissue. The other thought - while not seen on x-rays, a ligament or tendon rupture can lead to swelling, lameness, and discomfort. That would be diagnosed more likely on a MRI as those structures are not seen on x-ray.But a 2-3 week course of an antibiotic (examples being Clavamox or Simplicef) would be reasonable if not attempted yet. This is meant to be a running dialogue, and for this reason it is very IMPORTANT that you reply using the REPLY TO EXPERT button if more information is needed at any time BEFORE rating.Positive RATING (EXCITED FACE or 5 STARS) is appreciated as this is the only way I know you have received the information and I receive credit for my time. Please remember to ONLY rate my answer when you are 100% satisfied. WHEN HE DID THE LAB HE PUT IT ON SLIDES AND SENT IT IN TO LAB BECAUSE HE POKED HER HE PUT HER ON AN ANTIBIOTIC FOR 7 DAYS AND I DONT KNOW WHAT THAT WAS
That is what I asked above.
THE SWELLING WENT DOWN A LITTLE ON STEROIDS AND SHE DID WALK A LITTLE BETTER SO YOU THINK THAT ONE OF THE 2 MEDS ABOVE WOULD HELP I GO TO SEE MY VET AGAIN AT 9AM THIS AM THIS IS GETTING COSTLY THANK YOU
