petdoctor09 :

Hi, this is Dr. Maggie - I am going to try to answer your question today.

petdoctor09 :

Do these worms look like little flat pieces of rice?

petdoctor09 :

I see that you are in the chat room but I am not seeing your response.

petdoctor09 :

If these worms look like little flat pieces of white rice then chances are that Snickers has tapeworms.

petdoctor09 :

Tapeworms most commonly come from a concurrent flea infestation, but they can also come from scavaging outdoors.

Customer :

what type of medication do you recommend that i purchase for these worms?

petdoctor09 :

The treatment for tapeworms in dogs is usually a product like Drontal Plus, Droncit, or Virbantel in addition to a quality once monthly flea preventative.

petdoctor09 :

I generally recommend deworming once and starting on a flea preventative once monthly, then repeat the deworming in 3-4 weeks.

petdoctor09 :

If you would like to read more about tapeworms in general, you should visit the following link:

petdoctor09 :

You can find the dewormer medication I mentioned above at just about any online pet suppy store or at your local vet clinic.

petdoctor09 :

Do you have any additional questions I can help you with today?

petdoctor09 :

It looks as though you were typing and then disappeared from the chat session. Please let me know if you have any additional questions or conerns. If you found this information helpful, please click the positive feedback button so I can get compensated for my time. Thanks and best of luck with Snickers!
