Thanks for the question. While I cannot diagnose your hamster's problem via the internet I can make the following general comments based on my previous experience of such cases over the years : I have treated rodents including hamsters on a regular basis over the period of a great many years, while I cannot be specific over the internet I can tell you the following :What you could be dealing with is respiratory disease { pneumonia } which can and does occur in hamsters, unfortunately if this is the diagnosis there is nothing much you can do on a home remedy basis. In the past I have successfully treated this condition by adding antibiotics such as Baytril to their drinking water. As these are usually prescription drugs it will mean a visit to a vet but the advantage is that the vet will check your hamster over first and confirm what is going on.Sorry I cannot safely suggest any home remedies in this sort of situation. If I have not covered your question fully enough or you would like to ask more I will be online for the next hour or so and I will be at your disposal.Scott Nimmo BVMS MRCVS
