Can you give dogs infants Tylenol for pain?

ty

adkvet :

Hi I'm Dr B and I'm happy to answer your question today

adkvet :

you CANNOT give tylenol for pain, as tylenol is toxic to dogs

adkvet :

You can give aspirin, the dose depends on the size of the dog. If you reply with your dog's weight, I'd be happy to give you a safe dose of aspirin.

Customer:

what kind of aspirin and she is 13lbs.

adkvet :

She can have 1/2 a baby aspirin up to twice a day.

adkvet :

Try to give it with food, as it can cause an upset stomach.

adkvet :

If she starts vomiting after being given aspirin, she should see a veterinarian

adkvet :

Do you have any other questions?

Customer:

how long can I do this she jumped off sofa last night I know it's not broken she has a short leg when she landed on the floor and hurt it

adkvet :

I would try giving it to her for 2-3 days with strict rest (no jumping onto/off of things or playing) and if she does not improve she should see a vet as she could have a more serious problem that requires medical attention

Customer:

ok thank you so much
