because the dog has an inflamed disk in her back ,when letting the dog get outside to go to the bathroom are we better off letting her manage the 2 small stairs herself or pick her up physically ! she seems to prefer the steps rather than being picked up , what do you think ?

My recommendation is either using a towel in her groin area to stabilize her or purchase a harness that is for orthopedic surgery recovery to stabilize her (it has handles) up and down the stairs.
