Hello.

No, you cannot use it as it has an anti-inflammatory that can be toxic when ingested.

Instead, the best thing is to get the hot spot clipped with electric clippers and cleaned with a mild hand soap/ water mixture. You can then use a topical anti-itch spray like Betagen or Derma-cool. Having her on oral antibiotics are also helpful.

If all you can do is clip and clean it at home, then the other thing that is over the counter to use would be Benadryl at a dose of 1-2 mg per lb every 6-8 hours as needed for itching.
