The usual dose of Previcox is 5mg per kg once daily. Your dog weighs about 23 kg, so the dose is 23 X 5mg = 115 mg, very close to what she is getting now. Does it not seem to be working for her?
No, it seems to work alright about an hour after she takes it but then she seems to get worse later in the day. Is there something else that I could give her to assist her?
Yes, ask your veterinarian to prescribe Tramadol. Unlike aspirin, Tylenol and other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agents, Tramadol will relieve her pain with no complications with the Previcox. It isn't too expensive, either.
