Yes, some of the substances in tomatoes that give the tomatoes their red color can also turn the urine red. This can happen from whole tomatoes, tomato sauce, or tomato juice, and it is certainly more like to happen when there is a greater amount of ingestion.

When there is a red color to the urine, we would still typically want to check the urine to be certain that there is no blood in the urine. But if there is no blood in the urine, then there is no reason for concern about redness of the urine attributed to tomato ingestion.
