Hi

I am not sure what your question is.

A BUN/Creat ratio alone is not meaningful or concerning.

If the creatinine is above 1.1, then this is concerning.

What is your creatinine and reference range?

A fasting glucose of 123 is almost in the diabetic range.

That is concerning.

The bun creat ratio on lab results should be between 10-20. It was 23 and Being sent to kidney specialist
Expert:  DrThomasMd replied 9 months ago.

If the creatinine is normal, a bun ration of 23 is not meaningful.

And I would not send anyone to a kidney specialist on this basis.

Rather, I would check a urine protein and protein to creatinine ratio

If that is normal, there is not a kidney problem .

If the GFR, calculated is greater than 60, again, not a kidney problem.

the ration is not a useful lab in the absence of other abnormalities.
