How tall are you? How much do you weigh? Any weight change? Does anything make it better or worse? What did it start? Is it consistent? Is it getting worse? Any other symptoms? Are you aware of anything which might have triggered it? Any medical problem? Any surgeries? Any medications including over-the-conter pills and herbs? Any family medical history?

There are possible causes for your ED as follows:

  • Clogged blood vessels (atherosclerosis)
  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure
  • Diabetes
  • Metabolic syndrome — a condition involving increased blood pressure, high insulin levels, body fat around the waist and high cholesterol
  • Tobacco use
  • Alcoholism and other forms of substance abuse
  • Sleep disorders

Your problem is not psychological. You should see your doctor to have a physical exam and a blood test to determine your cause.
