At your age, your loss of bladder function is likely due to chronic bladder obstruction from your prostate. Unfortunately, there's no way to reverse this problem. If you are retaining large amounts of urine, the solution is to perform intermittent catheterization to empty the bladder out to prevent kidney damage or further water damage which may require a permanent catheter be placed. You need to discuss this with your urologist to see if you need to start on intermittent catheterization to prevent further damage. Hope this helps and let me know if you have questions.
