I have been having flank pain and lower stomach pain like cramps.

Customer Question

I have been having flank pain and lower stomach pain like cramps. My NP ordered a ultrasound and they found I had a 5mm kidney stone. The Urologist then ordered a CAT scan and determined I did not need surgery at this time. Could the flank pain be caused by something else? Does surgery depend on where the stone is located?

There is no reason to think there is another cause.
You need to pass the stone.
Lower spine disc problems can also cause this type of pain.
OK, so that is an initial answer….
