60 year old male. At annual exam, urologist said size of prostate

60 year old male.
At annual exam, urologist said size of prostate felt fine. PRobably due to chinese herbs I've been taking.
PSA test showed level at 0.76.
He also said there is a definite firmness on one side of the prostate gland.
Therefore, he wants to do an immediate biopsy.

Are the above results enough reason for me to let him do a biopsy, or should I wait a while?

ANy firmness or nodule of the prostate automatically overrides all other findings and lab tests and is an indication to do a biopsy immediately. Your doctor is recommending the correct diagnostic procedure. Prostate cancer can occur at all PSA levels and this is why a biopsy has to be done when firmness if felt. Hope this helps.
