My four-year old son has a hard pea shaped nodule on the shaft of his penis (in the middle). My husband and I recently had him circumcised (12/11) due to the foreskin growing over the penis and reoccuring infections. I'm concerned with this growth and noted it to be slightly larger this morning. I looked at him again tonight and the original growth I notice last night is still there and another one slightly above it is starting to form. He complains of pain only when he touches it. Denies pain with urination. The tip of his penis looks fine. I do have an appt with urology tomorrow however, I'm anxious to know what this could be and am trying to find some helpful stuff on the internet to read and put my mind at ease.
Optional Information: Person's Gender: Male Person's Age: 4 Already Tried: Nothing. Notice problem last night and have appt with urology tomorrow.
Greetings,Sorry, your question remained unanswered for long? Are the lumps red, warm? At exactly which spot? When did you notice them first?Regards.
Hi -
There is no redness, they are not warm, no drainage, they are under the skin (seem to be deep), a hard knot pea shaped under the skin. They hurt when they are touched. He had one Monday night and it's now Wedneday and he has two. We noticed them on Monday night 6/11when he was in the tub. Last night Tues 6/12 he had a fever that took hours to get down with two doses of Motin 8 hrs apart with a really bad cough - seems unrelated to his penis, but those are the only symptoms he is having. We are following up with urology today.
Oh I forgot they are on the shaft of the penis. In the middle. The head is clear.
Thank you for the input. The lumps seem to be due to an inflamed or infected glands or cysts. These are formed from swelling of the glands. Usually they are not worrying. You can get those checked by his doctor as planned. Warm moist compress can be applied. Oral antibiotic can be required.
