Customer Question

58 year old male active exercise daily.Had discomfort in testicle had epidemitis.
Then discomfort went to hips and back of legs and felt like pulled muscle in groin. My doctor did Ultrasound showed mild vericsololes.I asked him if I had a hernia hejust looked (didnt feel?) and said no. I went for conultation for a colonoscopy and he checked and said i have a Hernia Inguenal.Made appt to talk to surgeon for Hernia. Could it be possible that vericoseals and hip pain is from hernia(i dont see a lump)and if i have operation how does it affect verioseals

Thanks for your question. If I don't respond to you immediately, it is because I am either in the OR or traveling. I WILL get back to you ASAP.

Is the inguinal hernia bulging in your scrotum?

The varicocele is not from the hernia. The hip pain may be from the hernia, but not likely. Your hip pain may be arthritis related and your doctor needs to do a hip xray to rule this out. performing a hernia repair will have no affect on the varicoceles. A varicocele does not need to be repaired at your age unless infertility is an issue. Varicoceles typically do not cause pain. Your scrotal pain is likely from the hernia. It sounds to me like you just need the hernia repaired to solve your symptoms. Hope this helps.
