predazone is a drug which they use to treat really bad arthuritis without it in this case you would just not be able to move

OK. Sorry. We just call it prednisone here in the USA. This would not interfere with kidney function.

You can live on 50% kidney function for the rest of your life assuming that any medical problems that cause the kidney failure in the first place (like diabetes or high blood pressure) are under control.
