My husband is 72 and is experiencing prostate problems. He will go to the docotr tomorrow. Is having a great deal of problem urinating. If he cannot go, does this need to be addressed immediately?
Greetings,How long he is not passing urine? Is there any other symptom? Is there any significant past illness?Regards.Dr SS40910.5632503472
Overnight he got up every 30 minutes or so and dribbles each time. He has been doing this for several weeks but it is getting worse. Bowel movements seem to be coming in small amounts instead of good once a day movement. He is generally healthy...tks
Can he pass urine every 30 min? How much urine is coming out? Is there any distension or swelling of lower abdomen?
He calls it a dribble...just a little at the time. There doesn't seem to be any swelling in the area or distension, just the discomfort of not feeling empied.
Thank you for the input. Infection or inflammation of prostate can be the cause. Infection can be more probable. He can put alternate hot & cold compress over the lower abdomen. he may try to pass urine after opening the tap in bathroom. The sound of running water sometimes help to stimulate urine flow. Sitting in warm water can also be helpful. If he can not pass urine, there can be abdominal distension and severe pain. It should be taken care as soon as possible. This will likely need catheterization. Any query, please feel free to ask. It will be my privilege to assist you. Regards.Dr SS40910.5870016551
Thank you very much!....ck
