Hi I am 36 weeks pregnant and have a worry I may have threadworm. We have cleaned the house as advised from another website and both my 3yrold and husband have had ovex to clear. My worry is that sometimes when I am passing urine I am getting like these small light brown strand looking things and am now worried this is something other that threadworm. A couple of weeks ago I had to do a urine sample at hospital and I saw something transparent moving in my urine. I feel sick now, probably with worry. Please help

Hi,I can understand your concern about parasitic infections.You would not see threadworm (pin worm) floating in the urine, hence I am fairly certain that you are not suffering from this infestation.You need to stop worrying too much, as this is not likely to be a serious problem, especially in relation to your pregnancy.A urine routine examination and an ob/gyn evaluation would be appropriate and should help put your mind at rest in this situation,Warm regards
