I was involved in a car accident 3 weeks ago, someone bumped the car behind me and that car hit me. Couple of days ago I got a letter from police asking me to fill a questionnare. Do I have to fill it now? I am also not willing to attend a court.

Thank you for your help
Why are you not willing to attend court?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I just feel very stress and I might need to take day off from work which will effect my job. In addition I've been dealing with insurance companies for 3 weeks and fed up with all. Just want to finalise it and forget..

Have you been sent a S172 form?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

I am not sure about the number of the form. It just says 'questionnare statement' and a number at corner is ARB 50-1

Does it ask you to name the driver?
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Yes, It has questions like;

In your opinion who was at fault and why?

Reg numbers of other cars and names of drivers (if known)

Do you thinkthe offender should be prosecuted?

Offending vehicle (descriptions of both the driver and the vehicle)

They have sent you that because they are considering prosecuting you for driving without due care and attention. You can refuse to complete it but then you will not have the opportunity to put forward your side of the story. You should really complete it.

Why they are considering prosecuting me? I was not the one cause that accident. I was hit by another car while driving on my normal course.

Can we clarify that? I didnt have any fault in that accident..

In addition it is written on the questionnare that 'for persons involved in or witness to traffic collisions)

Because to ascertain that they need to consider it. they do this regularly with collisions.
