I had just entered the detection zone of a speed camera travelling below the speed limit of 30mph, when I was overtaken by an Ambulance response vehicle which set off the camera to flash whilst I was still within the detection zone. Will the camera be able to detect that I was travelling below the legal limit? Thankyou. Derek Anderson.
HiThank you for your question and welcome to Just Answer. I will try to help with this.Have you received a NIP?
Actually don't worry. I see what you mean.In theory it is possible for one vehicle to set off the GATSO device and another's index to be captured but it is incredibly rare. Also, if that were to happen then you can take the matter to court and invite the Crown to prove that your vehicle was responsible.I wouldn't normally suggest that as it carries costs risks but since you know that the speeding vehicle was not yours then it should be risk free.Hope this helps.
