Customer Question

Hi Pearl, I am in receipt of employment and support allowance and have been given a PPI repayment. I have paid nearly £1000 in tax, how do I reclaim this?
JA: Hi Pearl, I. The Accountant will know how to help. Please tell me more so we can help you best.
Customer: What do you need to know?
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Accountant should know?
Customer: Only that I believe that my income is below the threshold for paying income tax.
JA: I'm sending you to a secure page on JustAnswer so you can place the $5 fully refundable deposit now. While you're filling out that form, I'll tell the Accountant about your situation and connect you two.

Hi.

Only the interest is taxable, not the PPI repayment. If you think you should not pay tax for tax year during which the PPI refund was issued, complete a form R40, take a copy and send it to the tax office with supporting documentation which you should also retain copies of.

I hope this helps but let me know if you have any further questions.
