If I earned say 5,000 pounds from UK pension and 3,000 pounds

This answer was rated:

If I earned say 5,000 pounds from UK pension and 3,000 pounds from a job would I have any tax liability? I ask because I believe UK pension is taxable income but perhaps only to the extent it, and any other income takes one's income over the personal allowance?

Can you tell me what your date of birth is please.
Customer: replied 3 years ago.

i'm not of pensionable age yet but am trying to do some future planning. Thank you.

If you are under 65, the first £9,440 of your income in the current tax year 2013/14 is tax free.

I hope this helps but let me know if you have any further questions.
