My tax code for the year 6th April 2012- 5th April 2013 was

My tax code for the year 6th April 2012- 5th April 2013 was 251L which replaced 810L:
My tax code from 06/4/13 - 5th April 2014 is 382L.

My DOB is 03/06/51.

i am still working and not claiming pension / state benefits.

Am I due a refund?

  • No underpayment of tax.

  • I think it would be 2012 - 2013?

  • Gross Income Tax Year to 5th April 2013 -£18,152.52

  • Tax deducted £2,566.40

  • Tax Code 251L

  • Yes I did receive a PAYE Coding notice for the year 2012 - 2013 on 06/08/12 saying 251L replaced 810L. This communication also stated it -£5587 State pension, but I am not receiving state pension!

If you are not in receipt of state pension or any other pension, then it would appear the tax office has issued you with a wrong tax code.

Gross Income £18,152.00
Tax Free Personal Allowance £8,105.00
Total Taxable After Allowances £10,047.00
Basic Rate Tax at 20% is £2,009.40
Total Tax payable £2,009.40
Total tax deducted £2,566.40

Refund due (2,556.40-2009.40)= £547
