Hello, if you have any questions or need further clarification after reading my answer please let me know.

Please advise if
- you have received your P60 for tax year 2012-13
- you had any underpayment of tax from year 2011-12 collected in tax year 2012-13
- are you in receipt of any taxable benefits?

What tax year are you referring to when you ask the question "Am I due a
refund"?

many thanks

Freda, thank you for your reply...

Please advise figures from the P60 for 2012-13 as follows

Gross income
Tax deducted
tax code

Did you receive any communication from tax office when they changed your tax code from 810L to 251L?

Many thanks
Customer: replied 1 year ago.

  • Gross Income Tax Year to 5th April 2013 -£18,152.52

  • Tax deducted £2,566.40

  • Tax Code 251L

  • Yes I did receive a PAYE Coding notice for the year 2012 - 2013 on 06/08/12 saying 251L replaced 810L. This communication also stated it -£5587 State pension, but I am not receiving state pension!

Expert:  taxadvisor.uk replied 1 year ago.
Freda, thank you for your reply

If you are not in receipt of state pension or any other pension, then it would appear the tax office has issued you with a wrong tax code.

Your tax calculation of year 2012-13 based on information provided is as follows:

Gross Income £18,152.00
Tax Free Personal Allowance £8,105.00
Total Taxable After Allowances £10,047.00
Basic Rate Tax at 20% is £2,009.40
Total Tax payable £2,009.40
Total tax deducted £2,566.40

Refund due (2,556.40-2009.40)= £547

In answer to your question, you are due a tax refund of £547
