Hi
Thanks for your question
has this anything to do with the UK (UNited KIngdom) as this is where you have posted your question
Thanks
Sam
all the retailers said they don't know.... so I am looking for your advice, what I can do for next.
And I feel strange why they just returned part of the tax refund on 10 Feb, and untill now there is nothing show to my account, it really confuse me...
I need to establish whether this question has anything to do with the UK - did you buy anything from the UK - where did you claim a refund from ?
yes, my sister visited me and she bought something from different shops, and we do the tax refund in the Heathrow ariport, and they had confirmed us the refund amount and the refund day by 30 Jan 2011, by then, they will return all the money to my account. but till now 40% still missing.
I want to check the progress from your organisation, thank.
It would seem that the retailer/refund company have charged you costs for processing this refund.
These charges should be shown on the refund form you were provided with.
hum.... actualy I just want to know
- 40% tax refund is on going or not
- when will it be sent to my account?
thanks a lot in advance.
best wish
Siwai
Hi Siwai
This site does not deal with VAT refunds this is UK tax forum and you would have been advised how your refund would be processed, either through the shop of through refund company.
Its whoever you posted the form to and its the retailer that you have to chase up see link here from Customs leaflet
After your VAT refund form has been certified by Customs you can either:
Whichever method is used should have been agreed between yourself and the retailer when you bought the goods.
Your refund may be reduced by an administration charge. This charge should be clearly shown on your refund form.
If you do not receive your refund within a reasonable time you should write to the retailer - not to Customs and Excise
