i am giving a section 21 notice the 6 month tennancy expires on the 6/8/2015 i am giving it today i have dated for 2 month and few days over possession will be on the 7/9/2015 is that ok

Hello and thanks for you using Just Answer.
My name is ***** ***** am happy to assist you with your enquiry.
The length of notice required is equivalent to 2 months, however the notice must expire on the day before the rent is due. So for example if we assume the rent is payable on 7th of each month you must serve a notice now, (or on or before 5th July) to take effect on 6th September- ie stipulate in the Notice that the Tenancy is to end on 6th September (not the 7th September!)
