I have been issued a notice to quit dated 23.06.2015 that states I have to leave the property on or before 26th July. I think I have a periodic tenancy with the local authority. I have lived here 11 years. And pay monthly rent. I have arrears. If I pay them all off before 26th July, can I still be evicted?

Hello. Sorry to hear about your difficulties. I am afraid that having fallen into arrears, your are in breach of your tenancy. This breach has already occurred and so cannot be rectified by paying the arrears. Your landlord might agree to allow you to stay if you settle up, but you could still be evicted if they won't agree to let you stay because the breach has already happened. Sorry! Best, WB
