My partner and i have been wondering if we can claim a derelict house by adverse possession in Great Yarmouth which has been abandoned for over 4 yrs now.It has huge potential and we would like to restore it.Unfortunately however it is slowly been vandalized and used by junkies.we have made several attempts to find the owners by contacting Kingston upon hull land registry who should hold the records we need and have even e mailed the chief land registrar XXXXX XXXXX.But to no avail. It is just a matter of time before te property, which is of sound structure is set alight just for fun.We need your help, although we haven't much money as we have 5 children i work 4 a very reputable company as a chauffeur{A1 Stretch} and don't mind having 2 pay you
HiHave you carried out an Index Map search of the property?Have you occupied the property yet?Tom
yes we have, however this wasn't of much help,we haven't moved in but we have mail sent there and have slowly but surely cleaned the property and made it a lot more presentable from the front.although there is no electric we are considering having it reconnected as we have secured it from intruders and fenced it off from the rear but we need your advise as to where we stand in relation to claiming adverse possession. and to trace who actually owns it.as we were hoping on perhaps even buying it
Hi, What did the results of the index map search say? Did it indicate it was registered or unregistered?Tom
we have paid for this info 3 weeks ago,but haven't received any answer from kingtson upon hull land registry. However i am using the land registration act of 2002 so as i am not liable to any criminal proceedings against me for trespass.Perhaps if i give the details and pay you to do all that is required then perhaps you can help us 2 move forward more quickly as it would be so much easier because these matters are such time consuming and frustrating, especially if you arn't aware of the law
