Does the pump run at all when you turn on the heating?

Do you have a wireless room thermostat?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Pump doesn't run when heating called for, salus wireless thermostat, as said when the ts calls for heat, the boiler makes a switching sound like it's trying to turn on, but nothing happens..
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

the boiler display used to change when the heating came on before?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Maybe wiring prob all of a sudden?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

We can rule out the stat if you want?

If you have a couple of screwdrivers?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Tmrw I'll do it?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

ok, you will need to take the cover off the receiver and look at the wiring.

Inside there will be a pair of power cables (L&N) and a pair of switch wires.

If you turn off the power and put both of the switch wires under the same terminal, then when you turn the power back on and it fires for heating it is a stat fault.

If not put the wires back as they were and we can try the next step.

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Sounds confusing, I'll try it tmrw..
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

ok, let me know when you have had a look

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
the receiver is hard to get to, can i do this inside the boiler somehow, where the wires reach the boiler?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

Yes if you find the 2 link wires (not the power) and replace the 2 connections with a simple link, it will do the same thing

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Ok I do tmrw..
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

No problem - come back and tell me what happens

Customer: replied 2 months ago.

Still nothing, how do I make it work from the control panel?
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

ok, boiler on at the 0/1 switch

boiler pressure over 1 bar

E/C switch is just for hot water preheat

Make sure the thermostat temperature is above the * setting for heating and it should fire up!

Does the fan run (noise at the top)?

This looks like the Ariston 31MFFI, is this right?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
No fan, it's a 24he microgenus..
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Still nothing happening, is the boiler clock set up ok?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

Perhaps the timer is faulty?

Try starting on page 60 to narrow it down

Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

Your clock is set to 'I' which is on, so it should not matter how it is set

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I have the manual, still no heat, what now?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

It could be a faulty selector switch, PCB or clock.

Do you have a multimeter to check continuity?

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I have multimeter but not experienced in using it..
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

We can check most things with the power off and the meter set to continuity

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
Can we do in an hour or so?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

Your heating timer is set to off!

Can you move the selector to the 'I' position...

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
I think I did but still didn't work, I'll try again now..
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 2 months ago.

ok, let me know

Customer: replied 2 months ago.
It's in position I now, still nothing..
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
You want me to do multimeter in 10 mins or so? Where I put it?
Customer: replied 2 months ago.
