Customer Question

Hi, We have a velaire oil boiler for our central heating and the lock out light is on and while I can hear movement in the radiators they are not heating at all.
JA: I'll do all I can to help. How long have you been dealing with this?
Customer: I only noticed the light today, but I noted that the heating didn't come on for the past 72 hours and we have had it set to run for two hours morning and evening
JA: Do you plan on doing the work yourself?
Customer: Well, if it's a case of turning it off then on again, yes, but any more than that we need a professional.
JA: Anything else we should know to help you best?
Customer: I checked the oil level in the tank and it's fine so I don't know what to check next. Ok, but which region is your plumber in?

Do you have a rest button on the burner?

When was the last time it was serviced?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
No rest button that I can see. Last serviced last winter by previous owner of the house.

Can you take off the front cover and check for a red light by the burner?

Customer: replied 6 months ago.
The water heating is still working. Just the central heating that isn't. Why could that be?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 6 months ago.

Ok, if that is the case, do you have a cylinder?

Do you have a wireless room thermostat?
