Does the heating get hot when you run the tap?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
It's a combi boiler by the way. I haven't tried running the tap for long enough to tell if that makes the heating come on...
I'm thinking heat exchanger but two years seems very quick to scale up that badly.
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 1 month ago.

It sounds like the heat exchanger, have you descaled it?

Customer: replied 1 month ago.
Not properly going to get some spirits of salt tomorrow. What is making the rattling noise?
Expert:  Andrew Smith replied 1 month ago.

You should get some descaler from a plumbers merchant and put your plate heat exchanger in a bucket with it until it stops fizzing (about 15 minutes)

I think the rattling will be the boiler boiling the water while it tries really hard to heat the water but cannot.

I cleaned the heat exchanger and it has stopped making the noise but now im getting no hot water at all. The temp on the display goes up at first and then steadily drops back down. Could this be the diverter valve I can't think of anything else

Are you able to see if the heating flow pipe gets warm when you try this?
