My boiler Apollo. The pilot does not stay alight and there

Customer Question

Hi my boiler Apollo. The pilot does not stay alight and there is a constant ticking sound when the electric mains is on. I've went through procedure of turning mains off fully depressing valve, ignition and set on high on thermostat. It lights up but goes off when slowly released.

ok, it lights itself.

Can you see the pilot flame or just the spark?

Customer: replied 11 months ago.
You can see flame when I light ignition and hold gas valve in

If the pilot flame is covering the thermocouple tip and it glows red, then you will need a new thermocouple to cure this.
