Rick. We have a potterton kingfisher 2 and the pilot light

Customer Question

Hi Rick. I am Lianne. We have a potterton kingfisher 2 and the pilot light has gone out. This happened last night and we managed to relight it but there is no spark at all today.

Does this boiler normally light itself?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Up until last night it was fine. Now when we try to light the ignition it isn't sparking.

Do you reset the boiler or press the ignitor yourself?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
We have to turn the black knob to the ignition symbol, hold it down and then push the other black ignition button down hearing a click when we do it.

Ok, manual ignition then.

It could just be dirty electrodes, but it is more important as to whty it keeps going out.

I think if you get it serviced and a new thermocouple fitted then this will cure your problem.

But how do we light it today...it is cold.

Unless you can strip it and clean it or remove the glass and light it with a taper?
