Customer Question

I have a Worchester 37cdi boiler approx. 6 yrs old. It has now started to hit its temp limit and switch off every so often. Even when set to economy for the tap water setting it will continually show temp increase on the boiler until it reaches a value where the number flash then the boiler switched off. This happens approx. 3 times a week (sometime more). Radiator setting is set to * (turned off). Do you know what could be causing this and if its an expensive part.

Hi this sounds like it could be the plate heat exchanger partially blocked, but as its an intermittent fault its quite difficult to diagnose.

a plate heat exchanger is approx £100.00 labour is dependent on the area and plumber but a couple of hours i would think.
