have turned off boiler to clean heating system. i have drained the system, have added the cleanser, refilled it and now boiler wont start. the power light is on but a flashing light is saying that there is no water flow or flow/return reversed. please advise. thanks
Likely the shutoff is broken or just the screen has sediment. If you have cold water then it is sediment if you have no or little water the shutoff stem is broken and not opening and needs replacement.
the water supply is not a problem, the problem is that the boiler will not come on to heat the water or the radiators. in the instruction booklet with the boiler, which is 2 yrs old , in the fault finding section, it says that the flashing light s are indicating `no water flow or flow/return reversed`. as nothing was turned off from the actual boiler, i am now puzzled as to what has been switched off in the boiler, if anything. what does this mean? thanks
Relist: Inaccurate answer.
Hi my name is XXXXX XXXXX lets see if we can get you sorted in the shortest possible time. Do you have the make and model so we can sort this together?
hi andrew, it`s a baxi solo 15 he, do you have the original query? the boiler is only just over 2yrs old. thanks
Are you able to check your pump is full of water and spinning? Can you slacken the screw in the centre and take it out (use a tub, there may be a small amount of water)
just going to check now , will be right back
Let me know what you find
Opened the screw on pump, released the the air in pump till water came out. Fired boiler up & it worked for a split second. Just the green on light showing, no indication of pilot being lit or sound.
Green light showing means it is waiting for a "go" signal. Is either your hot water or your heating working? Is your pump running?
When I switch to hot water or heating there is no sign of pilot coming on. The pump starts running and the green `on` light remains lit. The timer clock is only 12 mths old, so don`t think its failed.
Can you hear the fan running like it normally does (at the top of the boiler near the flue)?
No, but surely that will only run when pilot light is burning,(which its not).
The pump will run when your hot water or your heating is on, the boiler gets the same "go" signal. The boiler should go click, fan, click, pilot, main burner. Are you getting any of this?
the problem has now been resolved, thank you very much. there was air in the pump.
Great news.
